Sydney Audio Club Meeting - October 2024
Sunday 13th October 2024: The October Meeting will welcome Atlas Gouverneur from The Speaker Project and will showcase the Tempest standmounts and Stoic floorstander speakers, supported by a Hypex Ncore amplifier with built-in DAC, and BluesoundNode N130 Streamer.
This presentation outlines Atlas Gouverneur's journey from founding The Speaker Project, focused on DIY speaker kits, to launching Atlas Harmonic. It highlights the evolution from teaching hands-on audio building to crafting high-performance speakers that blend classic warmth with modern precision.
The doors will be open from 1:30pm to meet and chat with members before the meeting featuring The Speaker Project presentation from 2:00pm to 5:00pm.
Atlas Gouverneur, founder of The Speaker Project and Atlas Harmonic, is committed to the belief that music has a profound impact on our lives. His journey began with a vision to help individuals experience world-class sound quality through accessible DIY speaker kits. Over time, this passion evolved into creating high-performance speakers that seamlessly blend the warmth of classic audio with the precision of modern technology. Atlas's dedication to elevating the music experience is evident in every speaker he designs, driven by the conviction that music should not only be heard but felt, enriching and enhancing the human experience.
The Speaker Project started as a hands-on workshop, guiding individuals in building their own speakers. The mission was straightforward: to deliver world-class sound while offering significant savings through DIY solutions. As demand grew, The Speaker Project expanded to include prerecorded instructions, enabling remote assembly and empowering a global community of music enthusiasts with affordable, high-fidelity audio.
As the business matured, the vision expanded to offer a brand that provided fully refined, ready-to-use audio products. Thus, Atlas Harmonic was born—a brand that combines the nostalgic warmth of classic hi-fi sound with modern audio technology. Through products like the Stoic, Atlas Harmonic delivers high-performance speakers that marry exceptional sound quality with elegant design, offering an unparalleled audio experience for discerning music lovers.

The doors will be open from around 1.30 pm to meet and chat with members before the meeting starts at 2.00 pm. If you happen to be late just quietly slide into a seat and join the presentation. As our club is based on mutual respect, especially in these open presentations, let us remain respectful towards one another’s views and opinions.
There will be an afternoon tea break before the meeting finishes at 5.00 pm. Guests are welcome – we are a very friendly club so you don't need to know anyone to join us for an afternoon of fine music and sound.
The second half of the music session is designed to help you evaluate the system with music that you are familiar with. All members and guests are welcome to offer music to share with us all. So bring along your favourite music to play on CD or USB or speak to Atlas to load your streaming selection.
All we ask is that the music and recordings be interesting. We'll ask you to tell us a little about the artist/recording before it is played. Tracks over 6 minutes will be faded out, to give everyone a fair go. We will also have a club member act as Disc Jockey for this session.
Whether you are a novice or a seasoned veteran, you will have the opportunity to listen, learn and share your experiences with others. Feel free to come and hear the capabilities of the system, or to just share the experience with like-minded music lovers in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Guests are welcome – we are a very friendly club so you don't need to know anyone to join us for an afternoon of fine music and sound.
Please bring your music to share with other club members.
