Amber Technology are supplying the Dali EPICON 6 loudspeakers. The backbone of EPICON 6 is DALI’s new driver technology.
Featuring two 6 ½“ bass woofers, the unique Linear Drive Magnet System as well as the breakthrough ribbon/soft dome hybrid tweeter the sound breaks with traditional loudspeaker conventions.
The EPICON 6 relies on a 2½-way system as – compared to the EPICON 2 – it features an additional woofer kicking in below 600Hz.
However, for the highest frequencies the EPICON 6 also incorporates a ribbon tweeter as part of the hybrid tweeter, in reality turning the speaker into a ‘2½ + ½-way’ construction.

Please bring your headphones with your music on a USB thumbdrive to listen to the HPA4 Headphone Amplifier.
Jim Faulkner will be manning the setup with a laptop with high res music files, or to help you navigate to listen to your own music on USB thumbdrive.
The second half of the music sessions will be our popular BYO. Members and guests are welcome to offer music to share with us all.
So bring along your favourite music on CD, SACD or USB thumb/flash drives. We can set up the club record player if you want to listen to your vinyl.
All we ask is that the music and recordings be interesting. We'll ask you to tell us a little about the artist/recording before it is played.
Tracks over 6 minutes will be faded out, to give everyone a fair go.
Whether you are a novice or a seasoned veteran, you will have the opportunity to listen, learn and share your experiences with others.
Feel free to come and hear the capabilities of the system, or to just share the experience with like-minded music lovers in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.
Guests are welcome – we are a very friendly club so you don't need to know anyone to join us for an afternoon of fine music and sound.

The much welcomed rain unfortunately was particularly heavy on Sunday and correspondingly the attendance at the February meeting was down to about half the usual number.
However the members that attended were in for a treat, the Dali Epicon 6 speakers are a beautiful looking speaker and sonically were well paired with the Benchmark AHB2 Power Amplifiers and Benchmark DAC3 HCG DAC.
The club President (John) and the clubs technical adviser (Paul) spent a lot of time optimising the speaker position prior to the start of the meeting. The usual room issues particularly with bass were not as evident and the extensive effort in speaker positioning resulted in sonically one of the best club meetings regardless of the audience seating position.
The Benchmark DACs are known for their transparency and neutral character. Paired with the Dali Epicon 6 speakers the room was filled with clear, dynamic music and balanced bass. While poorly recorded music was easy to determine the Benchmark equipment didn’t make such tracks unlistenable.
The wide genre of music and quality of the equipment made for a very enjoyable meeting and the majority of club members stayed for the entire meeting despite the weather and a few moments of concern when the room lights flickered.
Thanks to Amber Technology for supplying the Dali speakers and special thanks to David Corazza of Sound and Music who drove all the way from Melbourne with the Benchmark equipment and for his passion and enthusiasm in discussing the Benchmark equipment and related audio subjects.
The member’s feedback reflect the quality of the system and their enjoyment.
Some of the feedback comments follow:
Great meeting! Very enjoyable introduction. Thanks! Does it get better than this??
It confirmed to me the quality of Benchmark. Exceptional wonderful amps!
One of the best meetings I can remember for both sound in the room and overall good feeling.
(In spite of the weather). Enjoyed the discussion.
Very enjoyable meeting. Clean, natural, dynamic and musical system.
Great combination. Speakers beautiful looking and sounding.
Speaker placement was less position sensitive. I sat in 3 different positions.
Many thanks to David for coming up from Melbourne.
Thought it was a great combination
Very clean, effortless power. Enjoyed the presenters chat.
