Dear members and friends of Sydney Audio Club,
The first meeting for 2023 will be held on Sunday 15th January 2023 with speakers from the vast collection of high fidelity components owned by our member Ian Reid. There will be no Techtalk this month so the doors will open at 1 pm to meet, catch up and chat with members for a 2 pm start.
Meeting details:
KRK ROKIT 5 G3 5" Powered Studio Monitors paired with the KRK 8s powered studio subwoofer with input from the club’s Reavon UBR-X200 UHD Universal Blu-Ray Player. Please bring along your music to share and audition on CD or USB. There will be no streaming this month.
Speakers:
Unique cabinet design ensures sonic accuracy and pristine stereo imaging KRK's Rokit 5 G3’s radiused edges and proprietary waveguide provide a dramatically improved stereo image compared to standard square-edged cabinets. Internally, KRK designed the Rokit 5 to eliminate standing waves and other resonance issues, leaving you with pure, unadulterated sound.
KRK Rokit 5 G3 Active Nearfield Studio Monitor Features:
The 8s powered studio subwoofer builds upon KRK’s legacy for sonic accuracy in a compact form factor. The custom-voiced, glass-aramid woofer delivers tight, defined bass, while the Class-D power amplifier dramatically increases transient response, control and punch. The four-position selectable crossover lets you adjust the subwoofer setting easily to your existing monitors. Pairing the 8s subwoofer with KRK or another studio monitor delivers an optimized mixing and listening experience with extended low end.

The second half of the music sessions will be our popular BYO. Members and guests are welcome to offer music to share with us all. So bring along your favourite music on CD, SACD or USB thumb/flash drive. All we ask is that the music and recordings be interesting. We'll ask you to tell us a little about the artist/recording before it is played. Tracks over 6 minutes will be faded out, to give everyone a fair go.
Whether you are a novice or a seasoned veteran, you will have the opportunity to listen, learn and share your experiences with others. Feel free to come and hear the capabilities of the system, or to just share the experience with like-minded music lovers in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.
Guests are welcome – we are a very friendly club so you don't need to know anyone to join us for an afternoon of fine music and sound.
